🍕🫂 I'll never forget that night - the taste of pizza mixed with the satisfaction of teamwork.
Early in my career as a software engineer, I was part of a team racing to finish a big project (even to this day, I call them a dream team).
The customer was waiting, and we had just one day left.
For context, I'm old ;-) and early in my career, a delivery window was vital to reach as we worked with waterfall and had only small windows every quarter or half year to deliver a release.
Okay, back to my story…
I was new and feeling out of my depth. But I also felt a kind of excitement.
We worked late into the night, eating pizza and typing away.
We were all in it together, and that felt good.
We trusted each other, relied on each other, and respected each other.
That's when I learned how important these values are in a team.
As dawn broke, we did it.
We finished the project on time.
💪🏿🐲 We were dragons guarding its treasure, determined and unstoppable.
We turned a big problem into a big win!!
🔥 Just like a dragon rises from the ashes, we can rise when we take the good with the bad.
So to all the engineers and leaders out there, remember this:
It's the tough times and the good times that make you who you are.
And sometimes, the biggest jumps forward come when there's not much room to move.
Do you agree?
Share your thoughts :-))
Have a great weekend 💚
